“Know Thy Neighbour”
Pallottine Social Welfare Center (PSWC)
A piece of land with an existing-nonfunctional ground-floor school building was purchased by the Pallottines in 2007 in view of facilitating social apostolate. However, nothing substantial was done in this premise until 2014. On September 26, 2014, the renovated ground-floor school building was officially named “Pallottine Social Welfare Centre” and inaugurated. With the inception of the Pallottine Social Welfare Centre, the HIV/AIDS relief programme was started. On March 17, 2018, renovation work on the original school building turned “Pallottine Social Welfare Centre, and construction of the first and second floors were initiated. On November 08, 2018 the construction of first floor was completed, and was used as the residence for the Pallottine Community. On June 03, 2020, the construction of the second floor was also completed. The ground-floor was used for HIV/AIDS programme and for organizing other programmes, while the first floor was used as the residence for the Pallottine Community, and the second-floor was specifically used for St. Vincent Pallotti Community College. At present, Pallottine Social Welfare Center serves as the hope of the poor and the marginalized, caring for the poor and needy, and empowering women by making them self-reliant and independent.
