Socrates, the great Greek Philosopher, began his philosophical endeavor with the slogans "Know Thyself" and "Knowledge is Virtue”. The more we come to know ourselves in the context of our situations including everything and everyone in them, and get the right insight into or perspective of our situations, we are able to find meaning and move towards resolving our problems - in the process learning to love ourselves and every other person we come in contact with. Knowing ourselves in our situations includes having a right perspective of every significant relationship and interaction we have with our neighbor. Often, just because we do not know who we are in the core of our being - the positives and shadows of our personalities, and just because we do not understand the positives and shadows of personalities of the significant others in our life, we probably have brought pain instead of pleasure, sorrow instead of joy, darkness instead of light, and loss instead of gain - in our lives and that of our significant others. Hence, “Know Thyself” Human Resource Development Centre, with the help of online and in-place programmes attempts to provide various tools to unlock the depth of our personalities and that of those significant others in our lives - thereby opening us to greater understanding of “who we are” and “who our significant others are”. This understanding will definitely lead us to love ourselves truly and our neighbor genuinely.
